2025 Teacher of the Year Award

The Purpose:
The Edina Chamber of Commerce supports and fosters interaction between local schools, residents and the business community. In this spirit, The Edina Chamber wishes to recognize local teachers for their significant contributions in education and work with future leaders. Through the annual Teacher of the Year Award, a teacher who exemplifies creativity, enthusiasm, commitment and development of a positive learning environment will be honored.

Nominee Eligibility:
Nominees must be a teacher or team of teachers in the Edina Public Schools to be eligible for this award and should be a teacher(s) who goes “above and beyond” in the classroom. The nominee should be a teacher whose method of teaching is tailored to meet the individual needs of students.

Nominator Eligibility:
Anyone can nominate a teacher for the award: a student, a parent, another teacher or a member of the community. An individual may nominate only one person for the award. Nominations may include optional letters of support from the following: other parents, colleagues, students, former students, or members of the community. These letters should describe the attributes that the nominee possesses that make him/her an outstanding teacher.

Instructions:
Complete the nomination form with necessary detail to allow the Chamber to make an award decision. Candidates will be judged on their creativity, enthusiasm, and commitment to education and their ability to provide a positive learning environment. It is very important that the nomination gives well described examples the candidates work in the classroom. Optional letters of support will help to provide the decision committee with a greater insight into the nominees work.

The Teacher of the Year award will be awarded by our 2025 Teacher of the Year Sponsor, Royal Credit Union, at the Edina Shark Tank Event Tuesday, May 6th!
